In 1975, Bargloff’s built and relocated to a 17,000 sq. ft. office, shop and warehouse facility in Storm Lake, Iowa. Bargloff’s expanded association with Butler Manufacturing in 1978 helped the company survive the bleak agricultural economy of the 1980s. As a Butler CCI builder, Bargloff’s was able to diversify into the commercial building market.
Business operations continued unchanged as company founders, Arlan and Jeleen Bargloff, sold the business in 1990. The new owner, Gene Lyster, had been a Bargloff’s employee for 25 years. Together with his wife, Gloria, Gene incorporated and changed the name to Bargloff and Company. All existing employees were retained.
Under new ownership, the new company benefited from the strong economy of the 1990s, experiencing rapid growth in all areas. Gene further diversified the company by becoming a Butler Roof Dealer in 1991. As the new millennium gets underway, Bargloff and Company is well positioned continue its remarkable history of long term, sustainable growth in each of the markets it operates in.
